About Kurt Struve
My background is in art and Architecture. I studied art at Idaho State University and Architecture at the University of Colorado. While I was an intern architect at a medical architecture firm I found my niche as an illustrator. I went on to be the lead architectural illustrator at Communication Arts in Boulder, Colo. I have more than 10 years of professional experience in digital illustration.
Early in my career, people began calling what I do "Struve Magic" because it has the ability to constantly surprise and exceed expectations. Over time, my architectural illustrations have evolved from photo-realistic renderings into a softer, more artistic style. In my experience, people respond best to this style, reacting on an emotional level. I bring that same character to my technical illustrations.
My experience in Architecture has given me a solid understanding of how things are constructed and how to communicate that visually to a general audience. When working on a technical illustration, I often employ the same modeling and visualization skills I use for architectural illustration. My goal with technical illustration is to accurately communicate tough concepts in an approachable and interesting way.
I invite you to explore my work. Please contact me if you'd like to talk about how I can help you on your next project.
Best Regards,
