Personal Project Information:
This was the winning entry for the 2014 Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival art contest. It was featured in local marketing materials, newspapers, and as posters, coffee mugs, etc.
My Approach:
My concept was to recreate, in a seafood kind of way, the cover for the movie The Graduate, starring Dustin Hoffman. However, instead of being unsettled and weirded out, Mr. Salmon pours them both a glass of wine.
No hard lines or edges in this one, except for perhaps the fishnet stockings. I used only soft or textured brushes to render these characters in this underwater scene.
